Surprisingly painful

All the mistakes and broken promises are just memories now, but seeing Serena, the only puppy I've ever owned, who has been kept from me for nearly a year and a half is now the profile picture of my ex's current girlfriend.

Dagger.

Of all the horrible things that took place in that relationship which painfully gutted me to my core, losing my rights to Rena have been the hardest to cope with. I've missed out on her maturing, becoming a grown-up dog, her companionship and so many special, quirky moments by not having her in my life.

I hope Rena knows, on some level, that her momma misses her so, so much and I treasure every memory I have of her.
